Multi-talented Vancouver B.C. artist Josh Byer displays his colorful “Faux Fauvism” paintings in June at the Burien Arts Gallery, 826 S.W. 152nd St.

“My technique, Faux Fauvism, attempts to capture the moment immediately before a composition disintegrates into pure abstraction,” Byer explains.

The technique, inspired by Henri Matisse, celebrates elements of Fauvism, Cubism, Pointillism and street art.
