September Pop-Up Gallery Exhibit: Mia Shulte

The Burien Arts Association is pleased to feature the multi-media paintings of Mia Schulte in the September exhibit at the Pop-up Art Gallery at the Burien Community Center, 14700 6th Ave. S.W.

Meet Mia at the opening reception, Tuesday, Sept. 4, 6-7:30 p.m. at the Center. The exhibit runs to Sept. 31 and is open to the public during Center hours, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday–Thursday, and 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday.

"I work on the floor so that I can have a 360-degree view and feel closer to the work," Mia said. "I apply multiple layers combining the various mediums such as acrylic, ink, pastel, etc. The painting evolves with each new layer as I proceed to clarify the message/feeling that I want to express.

"I strive to represent observations about the complexities of daily life using natural forms to express my thoughts. The themes of time, change, movement, and transformation are ever present in my work."

She was recently selected to be in a show at the Prince Street Gallery in New York City.

Her works on display at the Community Center are for sale. Please email burienarts@gmail.com for information on purchasing.
